About

Mrs. Watson's Science Classroom is the home of five sections of 7th Grade Science.

This page is the landing spot for all the technological resources for our classroom.

Our classroom is a 1:1 environment which means that all of our students are provided with school issued chrome books to use throughout the school year. This allows us to have a blended learning environment which uses both the traditional "paper and pencil" as well as the digital technology components of learning to better maximize the success of our learning community.

We will use Google Classroom as our digital learning platform and the entire suite of Google Apps For Education which includes: Google Drive (unlimited storage); Google Docs (think Microsoft Word); Google Slides (think Power Point); Google Draw (for design); and Google Photos (storage and organization of their photos and videos). Students will also use their school provided gmail to communicate with faculty and students within the school district. We will be using a digital Discovery Education textbook as well as several other websites throughout the school year as well.

Links to all of our digital resources can be found on our classroom webpage under the "Classes" tab. Students can access all of their information in this manner.

I am entering my 11th year of teaching at Honea Path Middle School and I love working with the amazingly talented children in this community. I believe that all my students have the ability to be very successful in my classroom and I care for each of them as if they are my own. Once they are in my classroom they are always "my" kids and it gives me great joy to watch them as they continue to grow in high school and beyond.

I hold a Master in the Art of Teaching from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Furman University. I was an Environmental Hydrogeolgist for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) for several years before answering the call to become an Educator.

I have a wonderful Husband, Terry, and three amazing children; Jordan, Eleanor Grace, and Mattison.
